Anneeka will be selling a traditional Indian product called panjiri. She makes this high energy, nutritious supplement, using her grandmother’s recipe.
Panjiri is an Indian nutritional supplement, with Ayurvedic roots. With wholesome ingredients including almonds, pistachios, seeds, spices, semolina, dried fruits and ghee, panjiri is enjoyed by people of all ages. Panjiri is also prepared for new mothers, as the ingredients are thought to help with the natural recovery post-pregnancy, aiding in the production of breast milk.
Author of dadima’s cookbook, Anneeka Ludhra, has grown up eating panjiri. Anneeka’s dadima entrusted her granddaughter with her precious recipe, telling her it’s made with “great love, care and patience – the kind of dish you only make for your family!” Noticing that panjiri is rarely seen outside family homes, with recipes kept close to the chest, Anneeka wanted to share her dadima’s panjiri with the world, for all to enjoy. A real labour of love to cook, and a dish which has been passed down generations, Anneeka believes that panjiri is the epitome of elders’ wisdom and stories. This sweet and savoury food goes a long way, so it’s typically enjoyed in small quantities. Typically, panjiri is enjoyed with a cup of tea. In modern life, it also tastes great sprinkled over yogurt, or by itself.

Cakes with Secret Ingredients!
It all started from a friend who was in despair over her child, who refused to eat any vegetables or even much fruit.
Kate, founder of Blackberry Cottage made some chocolate brownies with spinach, spinach being such a nutrient dense vegetable. Her challenge was to make the vegetable the biggest ingredient. After a lot of trial and error she came up with a winning recipe, and not only were they demolished by all children and parents, they were asking for more!
Blackberry Cottage has won numerous awards, attends prestigious food festivals, we give talks and demonstrations at food fairs, County shows, schools, WI’s, garden associations, and many more.
Luci and Claire make all the chocolates by hand in Luci’s home in Goring-on-Thames. Taking inspiration from ingredients found locally, such as apples and raspberries from the garden combined with some more traditional favourites they have created a delicious range of chocolates. We crystallise our own fruit, make our own salted caramel, praline and honeycomb and are always experimenting with new flavours. We supply local delis, cafes, hotels and caterers as well as create chocolates for weddings, parties and corporate gifts. We also teach a variety of chocolate making courses from home and from cookery schools, including the WI Denman College. Luci and Claire are supported by a family tasting panel of 5 sons Ben, Sam, Ollie, Alex and Daniel, all willing to give the kind of honest feedback that only small boys can give their Mums!
Wine-Man Ltd is an independent wine merchant run by Streatley residents Ian and Paula Hewson, ably assisted by our general manager, Samantha Barker and webmaster, Richard Disney.
The business was founded in 1999 and is run from our premises in the beautiful West Berkshire village of Yattendon.
Wine-Man sources and supplies wines from all over the world. We import directly from producers in France, Spain, Portugal and Italy. Our buying policy is to select wines which offer a great quality to price ratio – wines which reflect the enthusiasm and energy of the winemakers who have made them, rather than the bland, over-processed and dull industrial wines that have largely taken over today’s multiple offerings.
We supply the majority of our retail customers through the Wine-Man Shop in Yattendon and also deliver to addresses in the RG and OX post code areas using our own staff and vehicles. Wine-Man’s activities also encompass wine tasting events for wine groups and societies, corporate entertainment, wine-tasting dinners and wine tours. Food and wine matching is a particular speciality.
The Rat’s Whiskers like food. When they travel their first stop is always the local market. Rat’s Whiskers visit Cafes, food stalls, farms, even supermarkets, wherever local people buy their food. Trying out different tastes, textures and smells- like a mouse (or a rat!) I like to taste and nibble as many things as I can.
When they get home they experiment, mixing old familiar spices and herbs with exotic new flavours. Rat’s Whiskers like using sugar, because, as our ancestors discovered, it is perfect for holding the taste of other spices, and allowing them to combine in a fascinating and complex manner.
Rat’s Whiskers range of food brings this excitement to life, and allows other people to share their journey through the world of delicious flavours.
You might recognise The Wandering Feast from their food festivals on Harwell Campus and Milton Park but The Wandering Feast is not just a street food festival, it’s a community. Only the best traders are selected – picked for their food, their hygiene rating, their desire to source fresh, local produce, and for the kind of people they are to work with. The Wandering Feast is all about people. It started with the passion of one trader, motivated by the people behind the stalls, making food with love. People who want to share that love through their food. We take that food wherever it is needed and we can’t wait to bring it to The Goring and Streatley Food & Drink Festival.

Well Preserved came about by enjoying a hobby of making jam and marmalade and later chutney for friends and colleagues at Tourist Board Day Out Fairs over 30 years ago. The hobby and enjoyment of selling preserves then became a fundraiser for Didcot’s Christmas Street Fair when it started in 1993 raising over £1,000 each year. The first craft fair attended was at Hagbourne School near Didcot where the Street Fair Committee were given a small table to give out leaflets and sell some jam. Despite only selling half a dozen jars a booking was made to take a stand at the same event the following May, but this time in the school library. That started the craft fair circuit and the experience gained from other exhibitors encouraged a more professional look to the stand, labelling and range of produce. Well Preserved entered The UK Taste Awards for the first time in July 2006, and was pleased to be awarded Silver for Seville Marmalade. In 2007 Gold for Damson Jam and in 2008 Gold for Mustard Piccalilli .

We are Twisting Spirits, a new Micro Distillery based in South Stoke, Oxfordshire in the heart of the beautiful Chilterns. Creating distinctive and unusual Craft Gins, we distil, fill and label each and every bottle by hand, passionately produced using hot and cold distillation techniques.
Using a unique dual distillation process the Gins we produce are quite different and distinctive. First, we produce a fine Gin using a traditional copper still with each distillation run being tiny. Meanwhile, the lighter specialty botanicals are cold distilled under vacuum using a rotary evaporator. Why the cold distillation? Well, the main reason is to preserve the delicate tastes and aromas that would otherwise be transformed, cooked, muted or even lost altogether in the high temperatures inherent to the copper still process. Finally, the two distillations are twisted together to produce the finished Gin – perfectly balanced and bursting with fresh aromas and taste.
Our range consists of three premium Gins initially: Douglas-Fir, Kaffir Lime and Lemongrass and Earl Grey Gin. You can try the Gins at the festival as well as have a Gin or Tonic or take away a bottle to try at home.
