This year we are hosting a hot street food fair with The Wandering Feast which will be hosted on the river front at The Swan in Streatley. Rectory Gardens will be filled with all our food producers. The Chef Demonstrations will be taking place in the Village Hall. The Tastings will be hosted in The Miller of Mansfield. All competitions will be in the Catherine Wheel Gardens.
Located in the most beautiful riverside spot in Berkshire, The Swan at Streatley has over 20 newly refurbished bedrooms, a newly created bar & terrace overlooking the river, as well as a luxury members gym including a yoga studio, plus a spa with treatment rooms offering a range of beauty treatments available to everyone with no membership required. Our regular street food events, in collaboration with The Wandering Feast, are renowned locally for the variety of authentic, quality food on offer, along with live music and drinks in the bar & terrace.
The Swan is currently undergoing an extensive refurbishment; totally redesigning our restaurant and events space, as well as several more bedrooms. During the refurbishment coffee, pastries, salads, sandwiches and drinks are available every day from 7am in the bar & terrace which is open to guests, locals and visitors alike. Guests can also stay on a room only basis and enjoy the fantastic gym facilities.
The Catherine Wheel, run by two local ladies Katrena & Vanessa, is an 18th-century award-winning country pub, tucked away in the Oxfordshire countryside, 2 minutes walk from the Thames Path, in the picturesque village of Goring-on-Thames. Serving good honest home cooked food and fresh hand made pizzas by Erik, our very own Italian pizza chef. We serve a wide range of Cask Marque real ales, lagers and fine wines. We have a lovely beer garden and are family and dog friendly. TCW has become a ‘must visit’ pub for locals and tourists alike.
The Village Chocolate Cafe is owned by Vivienne, who also owns The Chocolate Cafe on the riverside in Henley. The cafe has recently been completely refurbished and can now accommodate over 50 people for breakfasts; lunches and afternoon teas. The cafe can cater for birthday parties, meetings and any other functions. Tables can be reserved for weekend brunches or afternoon teas. As well as ice creams, smoothies and milkshakes we sell over 20 different hot chocolates made from real white or dark chocolate.
Built in 1900, and recently refurbished to a high standard, its flexible space is used to host many local fairs, exhibitions and events. We are very lucky to have such a versatile venue in the centre of Goring on Thames.

The John Barleycorn is situated at Goring-on -hames in stunning Oxfordshire countryside and within a short walk of The River Thames. A warm and friendly welcome is waiting for all that visit us. The Bull is a beautiful 15th-century Coaching Inn set at the heart of the village of Streatley. Made famous as one of the stops in Jerome K Jerome’s book ‘3 Men in a Boat’ the pub has been delighting locals and visitors the area ever since. Famous for a great selection of cask ale, brilliant pub food and friendly staff the Bull is a must visit for anyone in the area.The Bull also has 6 letting rooms and these are popular with visitors the area and especially those attempting the Ridgeway Walk.
Pierreponts is a cafe restaurant, serving fresh and locally sourced breakfast, brunch, lunch and afternoon tea. We’re also open on Friday evenings for antipasti sharing platters, nibbles and drinks. Head Chef, Georges Delorme, creates a high quality selection of substantial, flavoursome dishes and brings his passion for fresh produce to the specials board. Proprietors, Phil and Steph Kingsland, love great quality food and have thoroughly enjoyed coming into the business, getting to know the regulars and visitors from afar, and creating a relaxed, friendly atmosphere where wonderful quality food is served by a happy, knowledgeable team.
The Goring Grocer is a grocery shop and delicatessen in the centre of Goring Village which is run by Stuart, Caroline, Alison and Phoebe. Locals will pop in to buy our homemade croissants and leave laden with homemade kitchen suppers, charcuterie, artisan cheeses, locally grown vegetables and carefully sourced chocolates, chutneys and store cupboard delights. We are open Monday to Saturday from 9am to 5pm and look forward to welcoming you soon.
